I will be doing a random giveaway on my Facebook fan page when I hit 100, 150 and 200 fans. Only 2 fans away from the 100 mark. You don't have to do anything except be a fan to be entered in the drawing. Good luck to everyone. I'll let the lucky winner know via Facebook msg.

Lots to get done! Found some great display items for my daughter to use to display her jewelry on at the thrift store over the weekend. They just need a little paint. What a bargain! So very excited! Working on making some recycled boxes to box up items for customers at the bazaar. If I get some time this weekend I'll try to get a tutorial posted. They make great gift boxes for small items for Christmas! To make it even sweeter they can be made with any paper, card stock or cardboard packaging that you have around the house and they only take minutes to make!

Whats New!!!
There has been so much going on lately that I have completely ignored my Blog up to this point. I'm determined to be more proactive and pay more attention to my blog. So expect some great things to come in the very near future. maybe some giveaways, contests and features from Great Etsy Artists.
Some other things I've been working on are growing my Facebook fan page. Thats been a fun venture. If you are on Facebook stop by and become a fan. I pick a new theem every week and post my faveret Etsy items in that catagory. Its been a lot of fun. I've also been experimenting with making my own embroidery designs. This takes up moist of my time. Teaching myself new software has been interesting. When Im not working on new designs I'm helping my daughter.
My daughter is making jewelry and listing them in my Etsy shop. She has chosen Gem Girl for her DBA! It really fits her in so many ways!! It amazes me at how talented she is and how business minded she is becoming. She takes her jewelry to school and sells it to the ladys there. I can see her doing big things in the future.
Our Fresno Etsy Team ( Fresno Etsy Especial) is hosting a Handmade Holiday Bazaar Cirque Du Noel December 10th You can find out more about it on our Team blog: http://fresnoetsyespecial.blogspot.com/2008/12/cirque-du-noel.html
or on our Facebook Fan page: http://www.facebook.com/fresnoetsyespecial
Ziggy Stitch will be a vendor! I'll be sharing a booth with my daughter and sister in law Andrea of Fatts Magee. So if your in the Fresno area Mark your calendars for an amazing shopping experiance!

So far things seem to be going good for the Etsy shop. No new sales yet. Today I was contacted by someone from www.FoundHandmade.com They liked my blue cross bookmark and featuerd it on their blog. The more I am discovered the greater chance I will have in getting this shop off the ground. Right now my biggest goal is to just get noticed and then when someones needs something they will remember me and request that something special. Hopefuly by the big Christmas rush the shop will be booming. I will add a link to foundhandmade.com so others can check out their great site. There are alot of amasing artests that advertise on their site. I am honered that they have found my work worthy of their site.

Day one
This blog is my journy of opening an Etsy shop. www.ziggystitch.etsy.com I plan to explore all aspects of embroidery. Hopefuly you will learn something new along with watching the progress of my etsy shop.
A little about my shop:
The shop was opened March 13, 2009. After a few days of setup I listed my first items. Items listed where some animal shaped embroidered zipper pouches and some lace bookmarkers. I did not expect things to move so fast. I had my first sale on March 30, 2009. Then the begining of last week I got a custom order for 2 change pouches.
I was searching the web for some inexpensive ways to advertise the shop and came across a blog offering free advertising to etsy shop owners. So I sent in 3 of my shop items and the blog owner chose to list my shop. The Blog is Everyday Living.
I have also joined a Etsy team Central California Etsy Team we meet twice a month. I will also share with you some of the things we do.
I hope you enjoy getting to know embroidery a little more with me.
